The man behind the lens, Nilkamal Tahbildar aka Nil is a Delhi-based photographer. His interest in photography began when as a teenager he discovered the intensity of darkroom developing pictures, freezing moments and cherishing them forever. From a young age, Nil has photographed a unique and interesting bokeh of shots. Being a self-taught photographer, he loves chasing light. Nil finds inspiration in the unexpected beauty of life, the less seen moments in between. For each commercial client, he challenges himself to bring him sense of authenticity to a necessarily-constructed commercial brief. Nil’s striking use of light is unsurpassable and it is the thread running through every image, be it personal or commercial. He often uses the streets of any place, be it a city or a remote area, to find new and interesting frames to freeze.
