Navia Natrajan is a professional dancer based out of the IT capital of India, Bangalore. The classical dancer is a versatile performer, and her dance is one of its kind. Gifted with fluid balance, a natural sense of rhythm, and a lively sense of emotion, Navia Natarajan has been dancing to the beat of Bharathanatyam from a very young age. She has won many awards and recognition all over the world. Trained under Gurus Padmini Ramachandran, A Lakshmanaswamy, and Bragha Bessell, Navia Natarajan embodies the depth and beauty of Bharathanatyam through her thoughtful consideration of the myths and legends that inspire South Indian dance. Navia uses personal and communal experiences to anchor each performance to that which is essential and timeless. Critically acclaimed for her passion and her ability to loosen and weave together the layers of epic stories and human experience, Navia makes Bharathnatyam accessible to all audiences and relevant for all generations. Though Navia holds a Masters Degree in Microbiology and served as a Research Assistant at the Vittal Mallya Scientific Research Foundation, Bangalore, she has decided to go with the passion that is so firmly rooted in her heart, Bharathanatyam. Applauded by critics and audiences for the poise, grace, and sophistication of expression she brings to her shows, for Navia herself, Bharathanatyam is a form of communion.
