Biography

Mutnuri Srinivasa Narasimha Murthy is a professional violinist based out of the capital city of Tamil Nadu, Chennai. Hailing from a musical family, MSN Murthy started performing at an early age of ten and was selected as a casual artist by All India Radio at 14. He has been winning a high degree of appreciation from listeners for his purity of style, command over the instrument and his fine aesthetic sense. His parents (MV Subbarayudu and M Jalajakshi), guru (Sriman Nallanchakravarthula Krishnamacharyulu) and wife (Dr Pantula Rama) are all eminent musicians. He did his BE in electronic and communication engineering and a diploma in music. Some of his qualifications are top graded in violin, ‘A’ graded in vocal music and ‘A’ graded in viola. MSN Murthy served All India Radio for more than 20 years as the staff artist (violin) and opted for voluntary retirement. He is also an empanelled artiste of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). He has accompanied veterans like Dr M Balamuralikrishna, Smt MS Subbulakshmi, Dr S Ramanathan, Sri Nedunuri Krishna Murthy, Sri MS Bala Subrahmanya Sarma, Sri Maharajapuram Santanam, Sri TR Subramanyam, Sri Nookala China Satyanarayana, Madurai Sri TN Seshagopalan, Sri BV Raman and Sri Laxman, Sri TV Sankaranarayanan, etc. Performances: AIR’s Sangeet Sammelan concerts (Solo and Accompaniment) AIR’s National Programmes of Music Doordarshan’s National Programmes of Music (Solo and Accompaniment).
