Monu Kumar is a professional percussionist and pianist based out of the capital city of India, New Delhi. He is a freelancer musician born in 1987, who began learning drums and percussions at the age of 12. When he turned 25, Monu got admission in the Trinity College to learn piano and to learn more about Western classical music. He has learnt Indian classical music with piano from the Prayag Sangeet Sameeti, Allahabad. As a learner, Monu began to work with a lot of bands as a percussionist, pianist and drummer. Apart from drums, Monu plays 30 percussion instruments such as Djembe, duff, drums, kanjeera, frame tambourine, cajon, etc. He also plays melodic instruments like piano, organ, synthesizer, and xylophone (melodic percussion).
