Biography

  Monjyoti is a LIVE band based out of the IT capital of India, Bangalore.  A group of musicians with different musical influences, experiences and backgrounds with just one common ground, deep love for music, have come together to bring out a flavour that will simply blow away the minds. They combine elements of psychedelic, progressive rock, alternative, soft and classic rock in a unique way with one goal to uplift the spirit, mind, body and give goosebumps. Their music can take you to another space. The journey of the band started when Monjyoti, a solo vocalist/guitarist, met his childhood friend Soram Pankaj. They have been friends for 24 years, since the age of five and met three years back in Bangalore. The reason was music; both of them had departed because of academic and professional reasons after high school. But they decided to pursue music and got back together to amplify and synergize their individual strengths. Both of them joined hands to align their musical strengths and explore some of the experimental and common interests including psychedelic rock, progressive, classic rock, blues, and even soft and pop rock. And then after that, there is no looking back; both of them had performed many shows together with different musicians and joined hands with Vaibhav, an accomplished drummer in the city in early 2015, who happened to be the third member of the band. The fourth member was the musically brilliant Kiran Kumar who plays the bass. Kiran is also extremely skilled at playing lead guitar and has a brilliant understanding of music, sound and sound balance in general that he brings forth in his performances as well as in his home recordings.
