Biography

Mohit Shridhar hails from a family of dancers belonging to the Jaipur Gharana. Mohit started his training since childhood from his father, Shri Kamal Shridhar. Later, he took up professional training from his guru, Pt Rajendra Kumar Gangani, in Kathak Kendra, New Delhi, where he completed his post-diploma. He remained a scholar during his studentship. He has performed in numerous solo shows and been invited to dance with different Kathak artists like: Smt Geetanjali Lal Pt Rajendra Kumar Gangani Pt Kishan Mohan Mishra Pt Jai Kishan Maharaj Pt Harish Gangani  Mohit has participated in many major festivals throughout the country and aboard, greatly appreciated by the audiences. Some of them are: Konark Festival (Orissa) Chakradhar Samaroh Aurangabad Festival Geeta Jayanti Mahotsav (Kurukshetra) Pune Festival (Maharastra) Shimla Summer Festival Suraj Kund Mela (Delhi) Ravinder Nath Tagore Jayanti (Kolkatta) Sanchi Stupa Festival (Bhopal) Guruvayur Temple Festival (Kochi) Commonwealth Game 2010 (Delhi) IITF, (Delhi) Abroad: Almaty Istanbul Turkey Mohit has also availed gracious opportunity to work with Kathak Kendra Repertory. He has also conducted several Kathak workshops in Bihar and Maharashtra. Mohit is a percussionist as well.
