I am a musician and a music explorer. A trained audio engineer, I have been learning sitar for the past four years in Benares under my Guruji, Pt. Shivnath Mishra. As a 27-year-old Hindustani Classical musician, the lack of interest in today's youth for this pure ancient art form disturbs me. As a music explorer, I travel in the pursuit of discovering unexplored music and previously unheard of musicians, recording their performances on my camera and chronicling their journey. My attempt would be to honesty archive all these great musical experiences. I attempt to bring together a host of music content while also making my music available to the larger audience for appreciation and criticism. Thousands of talented musicians find their way to the online space in some or the other way. Small clips go viral after creating magic and staying in public memory for sometime. However, they are lost without any proper tagging or archiving. As a result it is impossible to go back those little scattered pieces of music floating on the internet. The idea here is to differentiate such small musical wonders from the viral content that have overtaken our online space. Let the journey begin...
