Maxie Miranda is a professional guitarist based out of the capital city of Goa, Panaji. Having made his debut in the international dance and music scene, Jose Maximiano De Miranda is now all set to rock Goa with Latin dances like salsa, Argentine tango, bachata, merengue, forro, and singing and playing the guitar. Fondly known as Maxie in his music circle, he has extensively travelled and performed at global music and dance hotspots like Argentina, Brazil, Portugal, Germany, and London. Besides travelling in South America, Maxie has performed at several summer festivals in Norway, Sweden, and Finland. One of Maxie's highlights in his music career has been the performance with the legendary George Harrison of The Beatles, which made front page headlines in Goa in 1991. Besides, Maxie has also taught dance as team-building courses at London School of Economics, among several other institutions of international repute. Now in Goa, Maxie is sharing his vast skills in music and dance with the local teaching and student fraternity. He conducts team-building courses for the music and dance teaching staff and workshops, besides teaching budding music and dance students. In Goa, Maxie has performed LIVE at venues including the Ravindra Bhavan in Margao and Kala Academy in Panjim. Maxie was on the panel of Jury for Kingfisher’s Voice of Goa 2012 (Konkani and English category), Vem Cantar, Goa 2011 (Portuguese singing competition), and all Goa State school level cultural talent search competition organised by the Directorate of Arts and Culture, Goa, held on 12-12-2012. He has taught guitar at the Kala Academy, Panjim, from 1986 to 1994. Maxie has performed at most five-star resorts in Goa since 1985. He played the double bass with the Goa Symphony and State Orchestra, BP Chamber, and Bombay Chamber Orchestras. He has also sung with the Goa Philharmonic Choir and recently collaborated with the London-based choir called The Pangea Chorus.
