Maria Roe Vincent is a professional singer based out of the capital of Tamil Nadu, Chennai. The singer, vocal arranger, and upcoming composer has worked with top composers like AR Rahman, Harris Jayaraj, D Imman, Anirudh, etc. She has sung in hit films like Kadal, Vanakkam Chennai, and Ennamo Edho. Her vocal arrangements have been featured in blockbuster movies such as Mariyan, Kadal, Million Dollar Arm, Highway, Yaamirukka Bayamey, and much more. Her work has called her to arrange and produce for several TV shows such as Mazhavil Manorama's Josco Indian Voice in Kerala and Vijay TV's Airtel Super Singer in Chennai. She was invited by Adi and Parmeshwar Godrej, along with her choir, El Fè Choir, to perform for Oprah Winfrey, during her brief visit to Bombay in 2012. Her debut single ‘Neethan Yen Dream Girl’ was released on YouTube recently. Maria Vincent was born in Chennai. She is the only professional musician in her family. Maria completed her schooling from Good Shepherd Matriculation Higher Secondary School. She is a BSc Zoology graduate from Stella Maris College and also holds a Bachelor’s in English degree from Madras University. Maria completed her Bachelor’s in Music from the International College of Music in Kuala Lumpur and the Berklee College of Music in Boston and finished her eighth grade in piano from the Trinity College, London. She plays the piano and guitar. She was introduced by D Imman, music director, in the movie, Kacheri Arambam. She had sung the song ‘Kadavule’ in the same. Maria worked as a contemporary Western instructor at AR Rahman’s KM College of Music. While she was working there, AR Rahman spotted her and gave her an opportunity to sing in ‘Adiye’ in the movie, Kadal. Since then, she has sung and arranged vocals in several films' songs and background scores.
