MAP aka My Alternative Pop is an alternative/blues/jazz/pop/rockn'roll band based out of the capital city of India, New Delhi. It is a joyride through a confluence of melodies and lyricism. The band started in the year 2011, when Manta Sidhu (singer-songwriter) set out to look out for musicians to work on the songs she had been writing. Manta invited her old friend Jishnu Banerjee for the guitar duties. Jishnu’s background in classical, rock n’ roll and blues, clubbed with his creativity and skills as an electronic music producer, brought a distinct sound to the band. Abhishek Mangla joined in as a bass guitar player, while he further invited his friend Reuben Narain to take on the drum duties. The first few rehearsals of the band led to some LIVE performances, which received positive response. The band saw another change in the lineup as Rahul Rai entered as the bassist while Shivam Khare took on the keyboards. The band released their debut album – 'Rear View' – with Times Music in 2013. The album featured eight original compositions. It is a carefree show of music that talks out in many simple ways and different hues. MAP recorded their second album, which again received good response.
