MakeShift is a LIVE band based out of Pune, Maharashtra. The band was formed in 2012 when a bunch of musicians got together for a few shows and jams. Ultimately, this make-shift bunch decided to go ahead and finalise a lineup which was best suited to their musical influences.
Chetan and Yayati have been sharing the stage since 2004 when they met during their MBA days. They have been a part of Pune-based bands such as 9 (now Ashwamedh), Un-Strung Puppets, and Hourglass Inversion. Their influences are very versatile, ranging from Metallica to U2 to Creed to Pearl Jam.
Ashish is the groove behind the sound and loves to experiment with his bass tones to best suit the mood of the songs. He has played with bands like One Nation, Black Psyche, and Sidekicks. His influences include Victor Wooten, Nathan East, Winery Dogs, and Metallica to name a few
Bikram Chaudhari, the vocalist and rhythm guitarist, previously used to play with a band called Ehsaas. His influences include Euphoria, Michael Jackson, John Mayer, Strings, and Lucky Ali.
Akshay Vaidya has been laying down the tunes on the keyboards. He used to be with bands like Eternity and Ehsaas in 2011. A sound engineer by profession, he has dealt with LIVE sound for a couple of years before moving on to become a sound designer and film mixer.
His influences range from Indian classical to Bollywood to progressive rock, the biggest of those being AR Rahman, Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree, and Steven Wilson.
