Mainak Nandy is a professional singer based out of the capital city of West Bengal, Kolkata. Mainak is a trained Hindustani classical vocalist and has been learning music since the age of six. After obtaining his degree in classical music, his musical tastes suddenly changed, and he started loving rock elements. Impressed by Pakistani and Bangladeshi rock bands, Mainak plays all types of musical genres. Being a guitar lover, he started saving his pocket money and, after a year, managed to buy an old semi-solid body acoustic guitar. Unable to find a suitable teacher or guitarist, Mainak decided to learn the instrument by himself. He explored easy tunes and chords. At the same time, his father gifted him a keyboard. After a few years, he mastered the instruments, and felt confident enough to form a band called ‘Harmony’ and, later, ‘M-Sonic’. He played the keyboard and guitar and worked hard to qualify as a vocalist too. As for Mainak, life is a learning platform, where he wants to keep learning and keep going. Mainak takes on the role of the lead vocalist and guitarist in the present lineup of M-Sonic. He is as much a 'crowd puller' of the band as he is the 'sweet thing' for his numerous fans! A perfect traveler in the musical world, Mainak's music video, 'Xeema', is featured in MTV Indies.
