Music for Anuraag Chadha, aka MADOC, was his passion and inspiration which turned into a hobby and then finally a profession but still his first love. In 2006, after schooling with the legendary DJ professor, Jo Azaredo, one of India's earliest and finest DJs, he polished his skills the old school way – apprenticing under DJs at clubs across the city of Mumbai, as well learning to build the mood for the night by opening for a number of big names like Roger Shah, Weekend Heroes, BREED and many more. In 2008, Anuraag decided to try his hand at music production and got his first release, Techop, with Balkan Connection on their Balkanians Volume 2 compilation which included renowned artists like Ogi Gee Cash, Smokin Circles, Cid Inc and many more. However, being an electronics and telecommunication engineering student, he had to give up music to concentrate on academics full-time. In 2009, he started his love affair with his passion for music once again when he was offered the residency at Wink, Taj President, Mumbai which in 2010, in a review conducted by CNN, was voted as the only Indian Hotel bar in the top 30 hotel bars in the world. He finished his engineering respectfully but eventually decided to switch lanes and take up music full time. He continued Djing at Wink and also started with his sound engineering at Digital Academy, Mumbai headed by Daman Sood, India’s leading sound and recording engineer. After completing his sound engineering course and 18 amazing months at Wink, Anuraag decided to go back to producing music and moved to London in September 2010 to study Electronic Music Production at Point Blank School of Music. After studying and working with like-minded people, he collaborated with his friend and classmate, Alex Cramp, and became a part of On the Rocks Record Label. Their first release together was their remix of Paul Baker’s Say Again.
