Biography
The Lynx made their debut to the music world in 1994. Their unique rendition and various styles of music appealed to the hearts of the audience and within a span of a year were more popular than they could imagine. In fact, it would not be wrong to say that with the emergence of Lynx, the entire LIVE music scenario in Goa was transformed. It is because of this very appeal that Lynx have performed in various cities in India, namely, Bangalore, Hyderabad, ?Belgaum, Delhi, Chennai, Vishakapatnam, ?Mumbai, Calcutta and countries such as England, Qatar, Bahrain, Abu-Dhabi, Kuwait and Dubai where the band performed for two full-term contracts. The first Goan Band to do so. Lynx has always been a trendsetter band that holds a high bar level to exemplary professionalism in entertainment. In 2006, the band made a record of six international shows including many shows in India as well. This also includes a prestigious wedding in Hyderabad for which they were flown to and fro during the peak season of December. In October of the same year, Lynx performed for the after-match of India-England Cricket team. In 2007, the band won the most covered title of Goa, Sprite - BAND OF THE SAND competition, which was open to every band in Goa. The prize included a recording with EMI Virgin Records. The Album 'LYNX - SPIRIT OF GOA' was released in march 2008. Lynx holds the unique distinction of being the first Goan Musicians/Band ever to make a CD containing Konkani and English music, traditional & originals called 'Viva Goenkar'. The next was 'Lynx & Friends' a Christmas album. The third album 'Spirit of Goa' was yet again a highly successful venture till date. The forth album 'Let's Groove' was released on December 16th, 2010. This band is also the one which performed on the wedding ceremony of former Miss Universe Lara Dutta and the first Indian tennis player to win the Grand Slam Tournament Mahesh Bhupathi. The band ensure their audience enjoyable evenings of good LIVE music for dancing and listening pleasure. During the last 17 years, the Lynx have brushed shoulders with many a prominent national and international personalities in the entertainment industry, such as Hard Kaur from U.K, Remo Fernandes, KK, Leslie Lewis, Hariharan, Colonial Cousins, Rabbi etc. Their music encompasses classic music from the 1940s through modern day pop. This includes jazz, swing, country, ?bebop, rock n roll, ?disco, techno pop, rap, retro, reggae, classic and modern rock. Besides English music they also perform songs in Hindi, especially modern day Indie pop favorites, Konkani, Portuguese, Arabic, Swahili (East Africa), and Spanish.
