Biography

Lucid Recess is an alternative metal band based out of the largest city of Assam, Guwahati. It was formed in the year 2004 by brothers – Siddharth and Amitabh Barooa.   Their music is a blend of alternative metal and rock with limitless sensibilities. In 2007, Lucid Recess released their seven-song EP ‘Carved’. The EP was self-recorded and self-produced at the Lucid Recess Studios. After rave reviews and support from fans and critics across the globe, the band decided to return the favor by giving out the EP as a free digital download the next year. After a lengthy hiatus owing to production commitment, the band launched its first full-length album ‘Engraved Invitation’ under their own record label ‘LR Records’ in 2010. The album contains 12 songs including previously-released singles – ‘Can’t Help Me’ and ‘Socially Active Warrior’. In 2011, Lucid Recess won the prestigious Toto Awards for Music at a prestigious ceremony held in Bangalore. Every year, since 2005, this award is honored upon an outstandingly-extraordinary band in the country!
