Laman is a LIVE band based out of the capital city of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla. It is an Indian folk and semi-classical outfit with an aim to explore and re-create the forgotten as well as existing folk melodies of India and of the whole world, by using modern sounds and instruments. The name has been taken from the folk song, 'laaman', which started in Himachal Pradesh. This song was made in the Kullu valley. Laaman song is very romantic and evokes the emotion of love. This is why the band chose the name. They are also working on to collaborate with folk musicians in India and overseas.
