Biography
Krishna Nagar is an Indian para-badminton athlete who is known for winning the gold medal at the 2020 Summer Paralympics. He is also ranked as number two in the world rankings of para-badminton mens singles SH6 events.Krishna was born in Jaipur, Rajasthan. When he was two years old, Krishnas parents noticed that he was not growing according to his age and his height was different as compared to other children of his age. After consulting a doctor, they found out that Krishna was diagnosed with dwarfism which caused the deficiency in growth hormone.Throughout his life, Krishna had been bullied by his schoolmates, which further demotivated him to do anything in life. Krishna would try ways to get taller like hanging and playing games which sparked his interest in sports. There were people who said I would not be able to do anything in life. I was affected by it too and tried various kinds of exercises and played different sports to increase my height, but nothing really helped..Krishna competed in the Dubai Para-Badminton International event in April 2020 and won two gold medals at the tournament. I want to thank my father, mother, uncle, auntie, God, my coaches. This is the first time that badminton has been added to the Paralympics and I hope that India will keep winning and doing their best at upcoming Games..Krishna is appointed as the assistant conservator of forest in Rajasthan as an honourary position.
