Biography

Kendraka is a LIVE band based out of the capital city of West Bengal, Kolkata. The name of the band is a Sanskrit word for 'nucleus' – the nucleus of the creation of the mind of Mainak Nag Chowdhury who traverses beyond the boundaries of time, space and genre. It is a contemporary Indian jazz fusion band that speaks through the powerful expressions of a man's emotions, captivated in cross-planner melodies and fluid rhythms. Kendraka is a quartet band that is the convergence of creative thoughts and energies of the bassist and composer Mainak Chowdhury. To answer the question regarding his Indian roots, he created Maitrayee bass guitar, a new instrument.
