Keemo Paul is a cricketer of Guyanese origin who plays for the West Indies cricket team. He was bought by Delhi Capitals in 2019 and reinstated by them for the 2020 Indian Premier League. At the end of the year, Keemo was listed for the West Indies squad for the upcoming 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Keemo took 7 wickets throughout the tournament and his contribution helped the team in winning the tournament.Keemo Paul attracted controversy in U-19 Cricket World Cup when Paul mankaded a batsman in the last over of the final match. This match was against Zimbabwe and Paul was playing for West Indies. This helped the team in winning the match and finishing second in their group.Keemo Paul had been active since 2016 and played several tournaments over the years for the domestic teams. In October 2017, he scored his maiden century in the first-class cricket against Jamaica during the 2017-18 Regional Four Day Competition.In 2018, he was named as the Emerging Cricketer of the Year during the annual Cricket West Indies Awards. Later, he also received a development contract for the 2018-2019 season by the Cricket West Indies (CWI). Sheldon Cottrell had to leave the squad after suffering an injury.Throughout his journey, Keemos family supported him as they had to move several times to help Keemo focus on his game and get better training and facilities. The family moved from Saxacalli to Wakanaam to Cornelia Ida, a village in West Coast Demerara. This helped him attend his training sessions in Georgetown.
