Kautilya Chanakya Shukla, aka Chank, is a professional singer based out of the capital city of India, New Delhi. He is an independent music producer as well. He grew up in a musical environment as his father was a great fan of Mohd Rafi, and his mother was crazy for Kishore Kumar’s music. Listening to music since childhood gradually manifested into a passion for Kautilya. In school, he was well-known for his dance performances, but soon he discovered another hidden talent which changed his life. On his 14th birthday, his mother changed the every-year trend of dancing and asked everybody to play ‘Antakshri’ (singing songs). When the turn came to Chanakya, everyone appreciated his good voice. His mother took his talent seriously and found music as a nice hobby for him. She sent Chanakya to learn the basics of Indian classical music from the retired music director of Doordarshan and AIR, MC Sharma. Chanakya, unlike other teenagers, showed a keen interest in everything his teacher taught him. When others of his age preferred the guitar, he started with the harmonium. He began performing in temple and school events as a hobby. Eventually, he had to discontinue his training due to studies. He met a fellow musician at a school annual function during his dance performance, Nishant Rastogi. Chank and Nishant jammed a little and discovered a great chemistry between them. Chank shared the idea of form a band with him and started writing and composing songs. Nishant liked the idea, and the journey of the band started under the name, Radix - The Origin. Chanakya got himself a stage name called Kautilya Chanakya Shukla aka Chank for his close ones. They earned a lot of name, fame, and commercial value for their heart touching self-compositions.
