Biography

Kargen is a professional DJ based out Darjeeling, West Bengal. He is known for his eclectic style of music and his versatility. His music is a fusion of world, nu beat, and dub that he performs LIVE internationally. Kargen has been stretching the limits of music since the beginning of his career. Kargen cultivated his obsession with music by constantly listening and experimenting with new grooves and sound. A classically trained guitarist with a fascination for anything that could produce sound distortion, his musical pillars were set in electronic and reggae music. He specialises in organic sound and the creation of musical atmospheres using a vast array of native and shamanic instruments, together with his creations made from natural and recycled materials. Kargen has been active in the field of modern music since early 90’s working as a true musician and specialising in tribal and Afro-Caribbean rhythms, ethno-ambient, and world music. He is an artist who is always working to expand his knowledge of ethnomusicology and the curative powers of sound. Some of his tracks are Dirty Riser, Track, Digital Life, One Night in Darjeeling, Future Generation, and Ajja Phere.
