My Compelling Story
Kalpurush is a LIVE band based out of the capital city of West Bengal, Kolkata. Formed in 1998, the band released its self-titled album in 2003. Their hit single, Machher Raja Eelish, was also released in the same year. It was also the first club song in West Bengal. In 2004, the band released another album called ‘Oo.. Lal.. La!’. Next album was Ludo in 2006. Kalpurush had a dream to work on Rabindra Sangeet which came true in 2009. The project was named ‘Robi Rockz’. It had a combination of rock and metal music. It created a new generation of sound and was accepted by all age groups. Kalpurush received the Bangla Sangeet Cine Awards in 2004 and 2005 for the songs, ‘Ma Dekha De’ and ‘Matha Bhora Taak’. The album was also the most popular and highest selling in 2004.
