However, later his family migrated to the southern district of Jhapa.Olis tryst with politics started in 1966 when he started opposing the party-less Panchayat System.He is known for his pro-China stance.On 15 February 2018, Oli became 41st Prime Minister of Nepal. It was his 2nd stint as the Prime Minister; 1st being in 2015.In December 2017, the Left Alliance of the CPN-UML, led by Oli and CPN-Maoist Centre, led by Prachanda had secured 174 seats in the 275-member Parliament in the historic provincial and parliamentary polls.
