James Basnet Band is a LIVE act based out of Dimapur, Nagaland. The band is the brainchild of James Basnet. A contemporary Christian artist, James released his debut album titled 'Brand New Day' in 2013 which has received much international acclaim. His self-composed songs are passionate, honest, straightforward and easy on the ear. James has been leading worship for the past 15 years. He is also the only Christian Indian artist to be nominated for the prestigious IMEA Awards. 'Brand New Day' was chosen as the Album of the Year in the Christian/Gospel genre. The song 'Brand New Day' from the same album won the IMEA Award for the Best Song, and James Basnet won the award for the Best Male Artist of the Year. The song also won the Akademia Award for the best Gospel/Worldbeat song in 2014. Early 2015, James released the second edition of ‘Brand New Day’ featuring two bonus tracks, 'Just The Way You Are' (introduction to his second album), and 'The Saviour Is Born' (Christmas Song).
