Jadugar Anand and Anand Junior is a professional magician duo based out of Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
Born in Jabalpur, Anand turned out to be a true prodigy. Ignoring every obstacle in his way, he kept moving upwards. Self-learned to the core, Anand is determination and courage personified.
And his efforts paid off in 1978 at Hollywood, where he bettered the world’s best magicians and was awarded the gold medal. Again in 1980 at Brussels, he repeated the feat and was titled The Grand Prix. And he stamped over all the stiffest competition from 150 of the world’s best magicians globally, at Montreal in 1982 to be awarded the Magi of the East title.
At the age of 19, he broke the world record for underwater escape when he escaped a box in which he was sealed and thrown in the river Narmada. At the age of 22, he rode a 250cc motorcycle blindfolded, from Indore to Bhopal. A distance of 200km in just under 180 minutes, creating another world record in the process!
Anand’s talents and achievements were duly recognised in all the advanced countries of the world. He has performed more than 28,000 shows in more than 36 countries which is a world record for a maximum number of shows performed by any magician ever!
Currently the National President of All India Magic Federation, Anand is seen by the fraternity as the last hope for the dying art of magic. He dreams of forming a magic academy of a global standard in the capital of every province of India.
None of his achievements or fame has touched Anand; he remains a down-to-earth person who never forgot his root. He is hard-working and god fearing.
Anand Junior, aka Akash Awasthi, is the 29-year old son of Jadugar Anand and has a high mental and physical prowess in command to perform the daredevil acts.
Not content with the breathtaking achievements of the great fire escape, the great underwater escape and the great blindfold motorcycle drive, Akash is set to achieve other unbelievable stunts like the great guillotine escape and the great running train escape.
