Iman Chakraborty is a professional singer from Kolkata, who started learning music at a very young age. Along with Rabindra Sangeet, Iman is well-trained in Hindustani classical music and folk songs. Iman is a television and stage performer, and her experimental and authentic presentation has been gladly accepted by people. She is trying to stick to the true form of Rabindra Sangeet. She has a fresh appeal in her voice without copying anybody. She is open to new concepts and ideas, having all knowledge of all kinds of songs. The great style of her singing attracts the massive attention. People appreciate her way of expression when she sings. Born and brought up in a home where music is life, Iman has been exposed to Rabindra sangeet and folk music, since childhood. She has imbibed a deep love for and identification with Tagore and folk songs, which has helped her choose a career in interpreting these forms of music. Her training has helped her in a deeper appreciation of the intellectual expanse and richness of the music she practices. She hopes to be able to take this cultural heritage forward.
