Biography

Humsufi is a LIVE band based out of the capital city of West Bengal, Kolkata. It is an Indo-world Sufi folk rock band fusing Sufi music with a variety of genres, hence calling it Sufusion. Started off in the year 2012, Humsufi has performed in over 350 shows all across India and abroad. It includes a wide variety of instruments inculcating various influences of Indian classical, blues and folk music of various regions, rock, Punjabi, South Indian and a few other influences as well all merging with Sufism. They believe in composing original music with Sufi ideology and cover various subjects such as romanticism, life, political injustice, social factors, environmentalism and patriotism. Humsufi is a one of a kind Sufi band comprising six members performed in over 300 shows all aver India and abroad. The set list includes a blend authentic contemporary Sufi music and original compositions. The soulful yet energetic performance of the band with an array of musical instruments and Humsufi’s own brand of fusion is what makes them unique. Though word of mouth has been the main catalyst for a long time initially, the band started getting media attention, later on, creating followers of the band.
