Hiten Panwar is a percussionist based out of the capital city of India, New Delhi.
Being the grandson of the famous Kathak artist, late Pandit Guru Sohan Lal of the Jaipur gharana and the classical singer and music director, late Pandit Govind Prasad Jaipurwale of the Kunwar Shyam gharana, he has been blessed with exceptional talent in music.
From the age of six years, Hiten has been receiving formal instruction in classical music.
Late Pandit Giridhar Prasad Jaipurwale of the Delhi gharana taught him how to play the tabla.
He also received instruction from Shri Ravindra Rajbhatt and learned about the finer nuances of the tabla.
Hiten learnt percussions and dhol from Shri Rajbhatt and Shri Bharat Gangani of Ajrada gharana.
Apart from that, he learnt Kathak from late Pandit Guru Sohan Lal and Shri Ram Kumar.
Western dance forms have also drawn his attention.
Hiten is an expert at playing the dhol, dholak, drums, duff, snare, darbouka, Dimarhi and congo.
Recordings and concerts with Sufi exponent Abida Parveen, music arranger Bhavdeep Jaipurwale,singer Kailash Kher, popular Israeli band, Heeam and Sai bhajan exponent, Saxena Bandhu have given him a complete exposure to talent and music.
He has also done television promos for Aaj Tak, NDTV, Discovery, Star TV and News 24.
Panwar has also performed with bands like Nasya, Kalpavriksh, Nasha, Eka and Vishaarad.
