My Compelling Story

  A young prodigy, he has been winning hearts since years. Hemant received a major breakthrough after winning the reality show Rising Star 2 which was telecast on Colors TV. He worked hard and practiced with sincerity to win the show. Hemant’s father is also a singer, who earned a living by singing bhajans at religious events. Drawing inspiration from his father, Hukumchand Brijwasi, Hemant was motivated to pursue a career in singing. An interesting fact to note is that Hemant has three younger brothers and all of them are also singers. He had also won the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2009 contest in 2009. Right from a young age he has been winning hearts through his soulful singing. In due course he also took part in other singing and talent shows. The fact that Hemant was exposed to classical singing from an early age has made him devoted to improving the quality of his music. He was initially just into Sufi Rock, until Shankar Mahadevan persuaded him to take up other genres as well. This led to the start of a wonderful singing journey.
