Haricharan is a professional singer based out of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He is a trained classical Carnatic vocalist and playback singer. He received his BE in Computer Science degree from Anna University, Chennai, in 2008. Currently, he is pursuing MBA from Loyola College, Pondicherry University. He debuted in films with Shankar's ‘Kaadal’, delivering three instant hit songs, namely, Unakena Irupaen (was nominated for the National Awards in 2005), Thottu Thottu Yennai, and the theme song. Following the success ladder, Haricharan has sung more than 300 hit songs in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. He has worked with leading music directors like AR Rahman, Isaignaani Ilayaraja, Harris Jeyaraj, Vidyasagar, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Karthik Raja, Deva, Mani Sharma, Devi Sri Prasad, Srikanth Deva, Pravin Mani, Dhina, Manikanth Kadri, Imman, Devan Ekambaram, and Dharan. He has received a number of awards like the Virtuosa Award for the Best Male Newcomer, the All India Radio Award for the Best Male Playback Singer, and the LG Sangam Award for his debut song ‘Unnakena Irupaen’. His latest song Thuli Thuli from the movie Paiyya has created a record for being the song broadcasted the most number of times. Recently, he has been conferred the title of Bala Kala Ratna by Bharathiya Vidhya Bhavan. He has toured with renowned musicians like Unnikrishnan and Dr M Balamuralikrishna. His band comprises six members who are all famous musicians themselves. ?He is known to sing songs with different grooves and giving it a new sound altogether. Sometimes, he performs fusion shows for his audiences.
