With roots in the legendary Baul tradition, Haradhan was initiated into this powerful devotional heritage as a child, who took it to international scale.
Haradhan Das Baul is a singer, musician and composer having his lineage with the famous Baul tradition in West Bengal, India. He belongs to the family of Baul singers from Basoa village in West Bengal. Baul Gan is an age old art of writing, composing and singing devotional songs in the Vaishnav Tradition. The compositions evoke devotion/bhakti and have the message of love & peace for the society.
Having been initiated by the age of four into the tradition, he trained and went onto contribute a lot more to this tradition. Waking up as early as 4 am in the morning, young Haradhan would accompany his father on his ling walks to distant villages to sing and spread the message. On the way his father would compose the songs and teach them to Haradhan which they would then perform for the day. and earn their living.
He first performed on radio in 1992. Today he is an A grade artist with Akashwani & All India Radio and has numerous performances to his credit across radio and TV stations. In 1990, he travelled to perform in Lindon and Glasgow and later went onto travel to Paris, Morocco and other parts of Africa in 1994.
The first album Shivratri was made after chance meeting with Darren Sangita and Mathura Das in 2008. He has several records now which spread the resonant waves of bliss from the shores of Baul tradition and take the listener to mesmerizing, healing levels of deeper consciousness.
