Guwahati Lights is a LIVE band based out of Guwahati, Assam. The band plays indie-fusion rock music. The idea of getting together a group occurred when Vikram was penning lyrics for a friend, after which, a lot of people suggested him for an album. He wrote the songs, but kept the lyrics multilingual, with Hindi as the prime language to appeal to a larger audience. Lyrics came out to be satisfactory. Vikram sat down with Barnali to work out tunes for the lyrics. Vikram had been playing the bass guitar for a few years. He is influenced by genres of music like blues, funk, and rock n roll. Barnali, being trained in Indian classical music, fused Indian classical to the Western tunes that Vikram had come up with. Brittanta, who had been playing with various bands, joined in on the guitars and Samar stepped in to handle the management. They got together in the month of January 2014 to form Guwahati Lights.
