My Compelling Story

Grimmortal is a five-piece progressive deathcore metal LIVE band based out of the finance capital of India, Mumbai. It is a part of the new wave of extreme Indian metal. Founded in 2009, the band plays heavily down-tuned style of metal. It all started when Joy (guitarist), Deep (vocalist) and Prateek (bassist) felt the need to play some heavy metal. They found Saurav, a drummer, who had to leave a year later due to musical differences. The search for a good metal drummer finally led Joy switching onto drums.  Vivek (guitarist) and Rahul (vocalist), who were close friends of the band members, joined in later, and the new lineup began playing LIVE. They were later accompanied by Nikant and Elvis (guitarists) along with Emmanuel (drummer) helping out LIVE in the half-year-long Execrating Normality Tour in the year 2013. Grimmortal now consists of Abhishek on vocals and Evan on drums, who have been a part since 2014-15. The band has played at BITS Pilani, Kolkata and, in March 2012, shared the stage with Grindcore legends Napalm Death (UK) and Arsames (Iran) in Kathmandu, Nepal as a part of Metal Mayhem IV.
