Gowry is arguably the only lady music director from the Malayalam film industry and right now she is the youngest female music director and lyricist in India
Gowry Lekshmi is a professional singer based out of the IT capital of India, Bangalore. Gowry, 19, has held music close to her since childhood. She writes and composes original compositions. Roshan Andrews, a film director, used her song ‘Sakhiye’ in his film ‘Casanova’, which came out in 2012. Gowry was only 13 when she composed that song. Gowry has also sung the song ‘Orkathe’ for Lal Jose’s movie, Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal. She received good reviews for her performance at Kappa TV Music Mojo and will release a set of 12 songs in the coming months. She started learning music from the tender age of three and completed her BA music course from RLV College of Music and Fine Arts, Thrippunithura. Gowry continued her music studies in Chennai and had also rendered her voice for a few Tamil songs as well. She is also a Performer’s Certificate Holder from Trinity College of London. She is now creating magic as an independent LIVE musician. She likes performing LIVE more than singing and has composed quite a number of tunes for bands and albums.
