Govardhan Rao Deverakonda is an Indian TV serial director.He was born in a family of farmers from Achampet, Telangana.In his teens, he shifted to Hyderabad, Telangana, India, from his village Achampet to make his career in acting. He then enrolled in an acting course, and during the course, he realised that he was camera conscious.He then decided to make his career as a film director, but it was very difficult for him to get an offer without any reference.At that time, satellite channels were setting up in India, and Govardhan decided to start directing TV series.He was approached by a few production houses, but he did not want to work for someone else.Govardhan then approached his village people to invest in his business. In an interview, Govardhans son Vijay talked about it. He said, A few production houses asked dad to direct for them. He comes from a dora mindset of not wanting to work for others. So he got real estate people from the village to invest. They did it just to see their names on TV. But they backed out when payments were delayed. Then dad worked on ad films for the government and it kept us going. Dad is my staunch supporter.
