Gopinath Muthukad is a professional magician based out of the capital of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram. The renowned magician uses ‘magic’ as a medium for the past 37 years to spread noble ideals among the populace. Muthukad has a different motto: Magic with a Mission. Apart from magic, he also steps his footprint as a successful mentor, illusionist, stunt performer, and escapologist. In 1990, he began his first mission with the direction of the Government of Kerala, carrying a social message to spread the message of literacy. Muthukad established Asia’s first magic academy at Thiruvananthapuram in 1996. Upholding the torch of science, his academy propagates not only the magical art to entertain the public, but also spreads moral values to the public. Due to his attitude, creativity, and dedication bestowed in magic, Muthukad was awarded the ‘International Merlin Award’ in 2011 by the International Magicians Society. He also became the ‘first magician’ who is attributed with ‘Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy Award’, 1995. His love and enthusiasm towards magic does not end with awards alone.
