Does Gopal Datt smoke?: Yes.Does Gopal Datt drink alcohol?: Yes.He was born and brought up in Nainital, Uttarakhand.Datt was bitten by the acting bug when he was in 11th grade.His father insisted him to take up the Science stream; so he took up B.Sc.To pursue a course in acting, Datt got enrolled in the NSD.After finishing his course in acting, he moved to Mumbai.As he knew that jobs in films wouldnt be easy, Gopal decided to take any and every creative job he crossed paths with.When he came down to Mumbai, along with acting, he took up voice-overs in advertisements. He was also writing lyrics, jingles, and was attached to several theatre groups.He got his first creative satisfaction with the news satire show- The Week That Wasnt, along with Cyrus Broacha.
