Gippy Grewal is an Indian singer and actor based in Chandigarh but keeps on traveling for his busy film schedules. Gippy was born in a village of Punjab, KoomKalan. He started learning music at a very early age. His first music album was launched in the year 2002, ‘Chakkley’. Although the album was not a hit, Gippy got recognized in the industry. Then, he launched ‘Phulkari’ album in the year 2005. The songs of the album were a huge hit and the album broke all the records in Punjab. Soon after coming in the limelight, he released various albums and singles. In the year 2010, he released a single with Bohemia, ‘Sharabi & Bhangra Hits.’ The song went viral and was on everyone's list. Gippy's famous song, ‘Angreji Beat’ with Yo Yo Honey Singh, was released in 2011. The song was also featured in the hit Bollywood film ‘Cocktail.’ Gippy started his acting career with the film ‘Mel Karade Rabba.’ He had a very small role in the film. His second movie, as a lead actor, was ‘Jihne Mera Dil Lutteya.’ The movie was a superhit at the box office. Gippy came up as a performer and actor from the movie ‘Carry on Jatta.’ The movie was released in 2012 and it had the second highest opening. His recently released film, ‘Faraar,’ was a Hollywood-style action movie and the film was the highest budgeted Punjabi film till date.
