Gaurav Bhatia is a senior advocate at the Supreme Court of India. In 2017, he was appointed as the National Spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party.In 2012, he was appointed as an additional advocate general (AGG) for the Akhilesh Yadav government; however, in 2016, his position was revoked by the Uttar Pradesh government. During the same time, he worked with the Samajwadi Party as its National Spokesperson and the National President of the Samajwadi Partys Legal Wing.Soon after joining the Supreme Court of India as an advocate, he was appointed as the Bar Associations Honorary Secretary of Supreme Court from 2015 to 2017. He then worked as an Advocate-on-Record of the Supreme Court of India before being designated as a Senior Advocate. He claimed in a media conference that Samajwadi Party had failed to protect the interests of the legal community in Uttar Pradesh. Gaurav said, if she called PM Modi a chor (thief), he reserved the right to call Rahul Gandhi a chaprasi.
