Gargi Ghosh was born into a family that appreciates music. She took her first lessons at a very tender age from her father, Sri Samar Bandyopadhyay, a disciple of Maestro Manabendra Mukhopadhyay. She has received valuable guidance by Sri Kalyan Sen Barat, Smt Mandira Lahiri, Smt Shubhra Guha and Sri Debashish Ganguly. Gargi pursued music in her higher studies and obtained a first class in her master’s degree from Rabindra Bharati University in 2001. She trained under the tutelage of Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty since 1999 till date.
