Gandhar Deshpande is a professional singer based out of the finance capital of India, Mumbai. Born in Bhandara, Maharashtra, 20-year-old Gandhar Deshpande is a powerhouse of talent. He commenced his musical training as a Hindustani Classical Vocalist at the tender age of five. His first gurus were his parents, Pandit Dr Ram Deshpande and Smt Archana Deshpande, both singers and experts in this form of music. His first on-stage performance was the Baal Kala Mahotsav at the Dinanath Mangeshkar Theatre, where he gave a solo tabla performance and a light classical vocal rendition in front of 500 people. He went on to perform at more than 200 shows all across India including the Ganprabha Hridayesh Arts Festival, Mumbai, the Naad Brahma Festival, Nagpur, and Uttaradhikar Festival, Kolhapur. Gandhar is also a recipient of the Hridayesh Award (2013) and the Pandit Vishnu Digambar Paluskar Award (2008). Armed with a deep passion for Hindustani classical music, Gandhar plans to explore his talent and potential to the fullest in the coming years.
