Foster Black, previously known as 'Agastya’, was a little surprised when they had their name and picture up on the front page of Times of India. But they have been building a buzz in the Pune scene since they started performing together and are mostly known for their interesting varieties of genres mixed. The band had started right at the end of 2013 when singer/songwriter, Abhishek Walimbe, met yet another singer/songwriter, Prateek Nandan, during their audio engineering course in Pune. They were later joined by pianist/bassist, Allister Martins. Fueled by the mutual interest of beautiful music, the trio started jamming. It was quite clear that the trio had something worthwhile after a few recordings and compositions. Hailing from different backgrounds of music and ideas, each member spices up the performance or track in unique ways. This combination worked in giving Foster Black the unique edge that defines the band’s sound. Currently based out of Mumbai, Foster Black is into experimental music. What makes the band special is being spontaneous. They go with the flow of the energy and feel. With their album called ‘Blurred’ soon on its way, Foster Black aims at just going out there and playing at this point.
