Biography

Folic State is a professional DJ based out of the finance capital of India, Mumbai. Unlike a typical DJ who releases a big single and then runs out of juice, heads a festival bill and disappears the next, DJ Folic has consistently produced top dance tracks in the last few years. In the year 2013, Folic was signed to one of India’s top record labels – SoupHerb Records, which is run by techno-lads Ashvin Mani Sharma and Ash Roy. This led to the release of his first EP – The Vulgar Story – in the year 2014. The year 2015 saw Folic craft two fantastic EPs – Spooky Town (Occultech Recordings) and Deep Soul (Buena Onda Records). The EPs were a testament to his quest to blur lines between emotive house music and club-style modern techno. His recent EP – Deep Soul – saw six solid cuts ranging from brooding and deep to elemental and tech. The EP comprises two remixes by the Hamburg-duo Gurwan and Piemont. The song – Another Zone – has been featured on the famous ‘Balance Series’ compilation by Stacey Pullen, which released in November 2015.
