Biography

Filharmonix is a five-piece LIVE band based out of Guwahati, Assam. A heavy metal band that loves to rock out was formed in 2009, since then, have been doing LIVE gigs. They have released their debut album called 'Hot n High'. The band wants to justify its album as a melodic leap back to the glorious 80's.  Albums: Debut album 'Hot N High', 2011 Singles- USA, 2013 Devil's Girl, 2013 Filharmonix band has been featured in magazines like Electric Vibes and The Northeast Today. Performances: Debut appearance in Phobiax '09 College Festivals- Synchysis, Phoenix, Pyrochynesis '10, Guwahati Performance in Karbi-Anglong Beats '10 , Diphu Headlining act in Awakening 2010, Digboi Headlining act in RockaRolla Pub Fest, July '10 Performance in the World Music Day Celebrations '11, Dimapur Performed in Metonia (Tezpur) and Waves Sea Rock Fest (Goa) '11 Guest Band in Dehradun Fest, Dec '11 Performed in Great Himalayan Rock(GHR) '12, Darjeeling Headlining Act In KAMS Battle of Bands '13, Diphu Performed in Kingfisher Beerfest '13, Guwahati Achievements: Best Band at Sifung '10 North-East Art Fusion Contest '11  Phoenix '10 (Runner-up) Best Vocalist at Phoenix '10 Dibrugarh University Festival, Auxesis '13 Best Guitarist at Dibrugarh University Festival, Auxesis '11 North-East Art Fusion Contest '11 The members of the band draw inspiration from different genres, but they prefer to call themselves a heavy-metal outfit.  KK is very much inspired by neo-metal and hard rock, while Anu is influenced by heavy metal, neo, and progressive metal. Ved is all inspired by rock 'n' roll, hard rock, glam metal while Purab is a straight shot of hard rock, old school heavy, and glam metal. And the back-bone of the band, Sami draws his inspiration from thrash, groove, progressive metal, and hard rock.
