Farid Karachiwala is an Indian solicitor who is named among the 50 Super Lawyers by The Asian Legal Business in 2020 which is the worlds leading source of intelligent information for businesses and professionals.According to Farid, he desired to be a solicitor since he was a young child.During his college days, Farid joined his fathers law firm to practice law, which eventually helped him.In 2006, Farid joined Wadia Ghandy, one of the oldest law firms in India, and later, he became a partner in the firm. In 2012, Farid opened a law office in Delhi with one of his partners from Wadia Ghandy.Farid represented the central government in a case against reliance and other companies regarding the KG-D6 gas case. The case lasted for almost four years.Farid specializes in corporate, commercial litigation, and arbitration. He appears regularly for banks and business houses and handles their dispute matters in cities like Ahmedabad, Delhi, Chennai, Goa, Lucknow, Kolkata, and Bangalore. He has also represented both the state government and central government in international commercial arbitrations.In January 2002, Farid became a member of the Bombay Incorporated Law Society as a solicitor. He became a member of the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa as an advocate in July 2020.Farid also advises on special laws relating to the redevelopment of societies and slum rehabilitation. His clients include some of the top banks and high-net-worth individuals, who have engaged him on issues relating to townships, acquisition of agricultural land, setting up townships, slum rehabilitation, and social development and have advised clients in some of the most complex real estate and conveyancing transactions.In an interview, Farid called himself a morning person and also said that he works from 8 am to 7 pm.Farid revealed in an interview that he was encouraged a lot during his law practice by the judges of the high court and supreme court.
