My Compelling Story

Escape Velocity is LIVE band based out of Guwahati, Assam. It is an alternative rock/experimental band formed in 2008 by two friends, Arunav Konwar and Raunak Bharadwaj, when they found that they both shared the same taste in music. After the formation, it led to the search for other musicians to complete the band setup. Next came in Angshuman Kashyap, a versatile guitarist and bassist, with a voice similar to that of Kurt Cobain. He provided the base for the future sound of the band as they entered into the alternative/hard rock genre. The variety of ideas led to the inclusion of Abhishek Patiri as the keyboardist. But his involvement also declined due to academic matters. This led to the participation of many drummers in the band. Sanjeevan, a versatile drummer, was part of the band at a time when they went through the development process. The band's activity was halted for quite some time. Later, the band members continued to develop their sound. As the band’s line-up kept changing various times, only the founding members remain the same at present with some further inclusions. The band’s influences are Linkin Park, Switchfoot, Dream Theatre, U2, Beatles, Avenged Sevenfold,  Bullet for my Valentine, Snow Patrol, Kings of Leon, and Aerosmith.
