Nishal Lama is a documentary photographer presently based in the IT capital of India, Bangalore. Currently, he splits his time and energy between weddings, documentary and commercial photography. His style of photography – sometimes called wedding photojournalism – means that almost all the photographs are candid and unobtrusive. The way he photographs the wedding is as important to him as the end results, because if he interferes with a scene, your memory is of the photographer setting up that photograph rather than the real emotions and memories behind it. His photographs are often full of emotions and capture the relationships between people. He has been shooting weddings for the past several years and he loves the whole experience of being a wedding photographer and witnessing all that goes around on the wedding day. It’s an amazing feeling for him and not something he can put down in words. He has a story-telling approach to wedding photography, but he likes to balance it well by portrait-style and fine art photography.
