Drift is a LIVE trio band that plays bebop and contemporary jazz genres. The band is based out of the capital city of India, New Delhi, and has done more than 300 gigs till date. The band performs an eclectic fusion and mix of classical jazz – inspired by veterans such as Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck and John Coltrane, and mixed with modern artists like Joshua Redman and Chris Potter. Drift The Trio is led by drummer Reuben Narain, who is an alumni of the Berklee School of Music, Boston. Pranai Gurung plays the guitars – he is also the director and founder of the Delhi-based band Blue Notes Academy. Saurabh Suman takes on the bass guitar. Drift's members are independently established in the music scene, and have jammed abroad with foreign musicians, too. The band has played extensively in and out of the city, and has been associated with events and residencies of brands and companies such as Absolut, Aman Resorts, Baci – Café and Bar, Chivas, Penguin, Seagrams/Nine Hills, Indigo, Hard Rock Café, Lodi – The Garden Restaurant, and many more. Drift The Trio made a Nepal tour in 2010.
