Dr. Murthy brought doctors from all the 50 states of the USA and founded a nonprofit organization, Doctors For America, which developed into a powerful force in developing effective and scientifically driven policies at the local, state, and federal levels. This cross-functional organization of physicians and medical students also played a vital role in developing the Affordable Care Act (aka Obama Care) that was enacted in 2010.
