DJ Tally’s introduction to music came quite early and started off by listening to artists such as The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Doors and Rolling Stones. From then, it was no looking back. Exploring different avenues in the industry from background scoring to LIVE sound setup, Tally is an all-rounder with anything to do with sound. After finishing his DJing training in 1998 from India’s first DJ Workshop – Spin DJ Academy – in Mumbai, there has been no stopping this young man. With no other formal training in sound engineering or sound design, self-educated DJ Tally has been the Resident DJ at some of India’s most popular venues such as Piano Bar, Boomerang, Area 51, High Spirits, and other venues in Pune, BED in Kolkata, and many other venues in various cities of India, Bangladesh and the Middle East. Technically sound and conversant with software such as Cubase, Nuendo, Reason, Ableton Live, SoundForge, Fruityloops, Dr Rex along with various studio plugins, Tally has also arranged and composed music for various jingles, soundtracks and remixes with some of the country’s top music labels such as Times music, Barista, McDonalds, Adidas, Radio Mirchi, and Radio City to name a few. One of the reasons for DJ Tally’s popularity is his vibrant personality – he can get the adrenaline up for even the quietest of crowds till they are up on their feet, as he entertains on the microphone whilst playing music. Befitting his popularity and ability to entertain any crowd, Tally is often hired by many to host and entertain at private functions. DJ Tally stands by his rather interesting and quirky motto: “I love my job that's why I do it better." He is passionate enough to actively support and tirelessly promote new talent. Besides Djing, Tally has efficiently been running and managing the popular Denon DJ Academy in Pune, India for the past six years, that offers courses on Djing in basic, intermediate and advanced levels. DJ Tally elucidates that music has a profound influence on people’s lives. First Runner-up at the famed WAR of DJ’s in 2007, there is no looking back on his past laurels for this multitasking man on a mission whose plans are to establish himself as a producer, enhancing his career and taking his talents on the road with as many shows as possible.
